Description
Kent Lam, MD is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery with specialized fellowship training in sinus and anterior skull base surgery. His clinical interests include chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps, sinonasal neoplasms and cancers, smell and taste disorders, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, allergy, revision endoscopic sinus surgery, frontal sinus surgery, balloon sinuplasty, and minimally invasive resection of anterior skull base tumors.
Dr. Lam received his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency in otolaryngology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He subsequently completed fellowship training in rhinology and anterior skull base surgery at University of Texas Health & Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Lam has conducted research on such topics as chronic rhinosinusitis, olfactory physiology, and nasal drug delivery devices. His research contributions have received top honors from the Chicago Laryngological & Otological Society in 2013 and have been published in International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology, Laryngoscope, JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, and other peer-reviewed journals. He also recently coauthored multiple textbook chapters, including a chapter on fungal rhinosinusitis in Sataloff’s Comprehensive Textbook of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Lam is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery and the American Rhinologic Society.
Dr. Lam strives to provide meticulous and effective care that combines clinical expertise, compassionate listening, and collaboration with other team members. He understands that each patient is unique and requires individualized approaches to optimize sinonasal health and improve quality of life. He is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
